Tendon Kelp

Found in dark, wet pools of caverns, tendon kelp is a semi-sentient plant system that excels in using the resources around it. While on its own, it can strangle victims to drag them down into the watery depths where it lives, it can then infest the helpless body and use it as a framework to provide a more bipedal form of locomotion to get to new victims and environments. The serrated edges of the kelp deliver a paralyzing poison to aid the plant in sedating new hosts. The decomposing body provides sustenance for the kelp, and when the skeleton is bare bone, the kelp can move it incredibly efficiently by substituting itself for the missing muscle.
